Newton's second law states that the acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on it and inversely proportional to its mass. If someone were to get shot, the force of the bullet would cause the person to accelerate in the opposite direction of the bullet. This acceleration would be directly proportional to the force of the bullet and inversely proportional to the mass of the person.
