Writing an Argument Portfolio 3
Can i get some help???
is this good for my essay? it’s about how dams are more damaging then we think they are. ofc i edited it more and did grammar corrections on my computer but yeah
There are many dams of various sizes around the world. Dams are used for water systems, flood control, water supply and hydropower. But apart from these positive factors, there are also many negative factors associated with dams. Dams have a negative impact on the world, devouring important natural resources, destroying untamed natural habitats, affecting endangered species and producing harmful ozone-depleting substances.
Initially, the dam occupied a land rich in important assets. Dams require vast land as floodplains for water storage. Artificial lakes are often created this way at the expense of significant arable land, decent land, and vast forests. Artificial lakes have some fun, but these lakes are generally not well known. In Texas, the proposed repository north of 50,000 sections may contain forest and family crops (Texas Water). Not only will the people around them lose their normal wealth, but individuals will lose their wages due to the lack of exportable materials. The
dam also ruins normal habitat for natural life. The dam supply holds water and gradually supplies water through the restricted openings. Water that is lethargic in an area begins to warm up on the surface. Finally, due to the lack of development, we can see that the water has deteriorated and is lacking in oxygen. Plants that need this oxygen to survive are disappearing. Even fish that rely on the course of the waterway as a means of transportation to the production area cannot pass through the reservoir. This turmoil affects the biological system and has devastating consequences for pecking order.
Third, endangered species are even more endangered due to the dam framework. Normal scaffolding is often heavily affected by dams and destroyed or vice versa. Weeds that grow in hypoxic areas begin to destroy the water framework and control excess critical resources. At the Amazon Barbina deposit, even the presentation of a group of brushing manatees could not control the spread of weeds (piercing). Over time, these weeds begin to rot, leading to the overwhelming effects of ozone-depleting substances.
Ozone-depleting substances have a dangerous effect on the atmosphere due to changes in the environment. According to the North American scientific journal Bioscience, "storage accounts for one-fifth of all artificial methane in the climate." Climate change is undoubtedly affecting life on earth. For example, polar ice sheets are melting as a result of rising global temperatures. As sea levels rise, urban coastal communities are beginning to lose land. Changes in air conditions caused an unpleasant tsunami. These events converge to create a childcare effect that requires a severe reversal. As the World Commission on Dams states, "There is no support for the claim that hydropower does not contribute to global temperature rise overall. Today, society is learning about the risks associated with hydropower plants. Both are environmentally friendly sources of energy and have no predictable risks. We are confident that these sources can be used to replace the need for dams in the future.
