Alright.... i asked this question last night, but i'm going to be a bit more clear this time. My Language teacher is doing a big unit on "stuff",(What happens to all of the stuff on earth). My job in this project is to find the extraction of a crayon. So the ingrediants and where they are extracted. So i went to Crayola and found out that the two main ingredieants are Pigment and

Paraffin wax. Now that's great, but i'm having trouble finding where exactly they can be extracted. Could somebody please help me?
Thanks, oh and sorry about my spelling.

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum. I'm not sure what exactly you need in the way of "extraction of a crayon" but h opefully the following will help you. If it doesn 't is there a "contact us" on the Crayola website so that you might ask them?

1. ww.cs.usask.ca/~mould/papers/crayon-cgf.pdf

2. (PDF file to download about museum artifacts):

You can, of course, melt down the crayons but why would you?

Paraffin wax is made from petroleum. Pigments are made from different chemicals, such as sulfur. Check these sites for more information.

No problem, I can definitely help you with that. To find out where the ingredients for a crayon are extracted, we need to do a bit of research. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to find the information:

1. Start by searching for the main ingredient, pigment. Pigments are usually derived from minerals or organic sources. You can start by searching for the specific type of pigment used in crayons. For example, one common pigment used in crayons is titanium dioxide. Search for "extraction of titanium dioxide" to find out where it is obtained from.

2. Once you have information about the extraction of pigments, move on to the second main ingredient, paraffin wax. Paraffin wax is a petroleum byproduct. Search for "extraction of paraffin wax" to learn more about where it is sourced from or how it is obtained.

3. Look for reliable sources such as scientific articles, industry reports, or company websites. These sources will provide accurate information about the extraction process for these ingredients.

4. Consider contacting Crayola directly or reaching out to other crayon manufacturers to inquire about their sourcing practices. They may be able to provide specific information on where they extract their ingredients.

Remember, it's important to critically evaluate the sources you find to ensure the information is accurate and reliable.
