# Simplify:

4^(-1/2)

4^{-1/2} = 1/4^{1/2} = 1/2. check my work.

On exponents, negative means reciprocal.

4^{(-1/2)} means the same as

1/4^{(1/2)} which is the same as

1/squareroot(4)

so the answer is 1^4

no, of course not. The square root of 4 is 2 isn't it?

so 1/squareroot(4) = 1/2.

oh lol thanks can you help me with proofs?
