Mrs Walsh is seeking legal advice. A friend of her recommended two law firms - Legal Eagles, which charges a consultation fee of $100 plus $40 per hour and A-1 Attorneys, which charges a consultation fee of $60 per hour.

A) Write an equation for the cost (C) of Legal Eagles in terms of the length of consultation time (t). Write another equation for the cost (C) of A-1 Attorneys in terms of length of consultation time.

B) Create a table of values showing the vost of each legal firm over a 6-hour period

C) How many hours of consultation time will both legal firms cost the same?

D) Which firm gives mroe consultation time for $420? By how much?

E) Based on cost and consultation time, which law firm should Mrs Walsh use? Explain.

A) C(Legal Eagles)=100 + 40t
C(A-1 group)=60t

Use these two equation to answer the other questions. Post your work if you get stuck further down.

They aren't word problems anymore. I converted them from word problems to equations. They are equations now and you use the equations to answer the other questions. For the next part,
B) Create a table of values showing the vost of each legal firm over a 6-hour period.
Make a table as below.

time(hours) Cost of L.E. Cost of A-1

Now use the two equations to determine the cost of LE for 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours etc. Then do the same thing with the A-1 equation to determine the cost for 1 hr, 2hrs, 3 hrs, etc. That will finish part (b)

Then put your mind in thinking mode, use the equations, and do the other parts. We can check your answers if you like and we can provide hints, as in the table above, but we won't work each of the problems for you. I know you don't want us to do your work for you for you want to learn to do these problems yourself. Good luck. One way to learn to solve word problems is to practice, practice, practice. I had a terrible time working word problem when I was a child. Persistence is the key to success.

I understand that you may feel frustrated or dislike math, but it is important to approach the subject with an open mind and embrace the learning process. Remember that practice and persistence are key to understanding and solving math problems. If you need any assistance or have any specific questions, feel free to ask, and I'll be happy to help you.
