Composite argument properties:

cos(A + B) = cosAcosB - sinAsinB
sin(A + B) = sinAcosB + cosAsinB

Substituting:

[cos(A + B)]^2 + [sin(A + B)]^2 = 1

Sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1
