As a immigrant, I know that I have less chance to get into the University of California than other people. But I never give up the thought of getting into UC. As I mentioned before, I have taken as many college prep classes I could to meet the UC's requirements. Some of my friends once tried to persuade me to give up this thought, because it is very hard to get into UC. Of course I know that, but according to my personality, I know I won't give up any opportunities that I got. When I first came to the United States, I dare not to think about UC because I thought it is very little chance. But I remember my math teacher once told the class that "if you don't try your best you may regret later. But if you tried your best, no matter what the result is, you won't regret." After I heard this, my determination of getting into UC is more strong. I always believe that one's determination will help one go through every hardship. I believe that my determination can help me commit to 4 more years of school.
