Some potential issues that may be affecting my local community or world include climate change, inequality, racial injustice, healthcare access, education, mental health, etc. One issue that really matters to me is racial injustice and inequality.

I believe that systemic racism and discrimination persist in our society and have a devastating impact on communities of color. This issue is widespread and deeply rooted in our history, and it is crucial that we continue to raise awareness and fight for justice and equality for all.

One way I can share my opinion on this issue through an art piece is by creating a powerful and thought-provoking painting that depicts the struggles and resistance of marginalized communities. I can incorporate symbols of strength, unity, and resilience to convey a message of hope and solidarity.

For materials, I will use acrylic paints on canvas and incorporate mixed media elements such as newspaper clippings, fabric scraps, and other textures to add depth and meaning to the piece.

I will sketch my idea and plan out the composition, colors, and overall message of the artwork before getting started. Once completed, I will photograph the finished piece and submit it along with the What’s at Stake in Your Community worksheet in the dropbox.
