Part 1: Write an expression in simplest form for the perimeter of each triangle

Part 2: Write another expression in simplest form that shows the difference between the perimeter of the larger triangle and the perimeter of the smaller triangle.
Part 3: Find the perimeter of each triangle when x = 2.
The first triangle:
3x + 4
4x - 3
8x + 9
The second triangle:
x+7
x+5
3x-4

Part 1:

For the first triangle:
Perimeter = 3x + 4 + 4x - 3 + 8x + 9 = 15x + 10

For the second triangle:
Perimeter = x + 7 + x + 5 + 3x - 4 = 5x + 8

Part 2:
Difference in perimeter, P = (15x + 10) - (5x + 8) = 10x + 2

Part 3:
When x = 2,
Perimeter of the first triangle = 15(2) + 10 = 40
Perimeter of the second triangle = 5(2) + 8 = 18
