I hung things all around my belt: a ladle, wooden spoons, a potty, an old electric clock, a women's umbrella, a cast-iron stove lid. Clanging and rattling all over, I boarded a bus. The people on the minibus broke into laughter, so I stood up, and using my frying pan as a guitar, sang all the songs I knew. Laughing and clapping, they were so light-hearted it was indescribable. Some threw oranges for me to eat, others gave me candy, and some money. Not only that, the bus driver not only failed to ask me for fare but invited me to his home: "Where have you been all this time? Come every day, the food and drinks are on me."
