European Explorer Journal 1: Travel

Dear Journal,
Today marks the beginning of my great journey to explore new lands and expand our empire. I am filled with excitement and anticipation as I set sail on this adventure. The conditions on the ship are quite cramped and uncomfortable, but I am willing to endure it for the promise of new discoveries. We are using the latest inventions such as the compass and astrolabe to navigate the vast oceans. It is truly a marvel of technology that is aiding us on our expedition.

European Explorer Journal 2: Encounter with Native People

Dear Journal,
Today we encountered native people on the shores of the land we have discovered. They were curious yet cautious of us, the strangers who arrived on their shores. We tried to communicate with them through gestures and basic words, but there was a language barrier that made it difficult to truly understand each other. Despite the initial tension, I am hopeful that we can establish peaceful relations with these indigenous people.

Native Person Journal 3: Life before Europeans arrived

Dear Journal,
Life before the arrival of the Europeans was peaceful and harmonious. We lived off the land, hunting and gathering to sustain our communities. However, with the arrival of the Europeans, everything changed. They brought diseases that ravaged our population, and their desire for resources led to conflicts and displacement. Our way of life was disrupted, and we were forced to adapt to a new reality imposed upon us by these foreign invaders.

Native Person Journal 4: Life after Europeans arrived

Dear Journal,
The arrival of the Europeans has had a lasting impact on our way of life. Our land has been taken from us, our resources depleted, and our culture eroded. We are now living under the rule of these colonizers, who impose their laws and customs upon us. Despite the hardships we have faced, we continue to resist and fight for our rights and our heritage. The legacy of European colonization continues to shape our lives in ways we never could have imagined.
