Culture reduced test

A culture reduced test refers to a laboratory test that specifically looks for the presence of certain bacteria or pathogens in a sample, but does not involve the cultivation and growth of these organisms in a laboratory setting. This type of test is often used when a quicker or more targeted result is needed, as compared to traditional culture methods which can take days to produce results. Culture reduced tests may use molecular techniques such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or immunological methods to detect the presence of specific pathogens.
