Why did people call Harriet Tubman “Moses”?

Harriet Tubman was called "Moses" because, like the biblical figure, she led her people out of slavery to freedom. Tubman was a prominent abolitionist and conductor on the Underground Railroad, a network of safe houses and routes that helped enslaved African Americans escape to freedom in the North. Just as Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, Tubman guided hundreds of people to freedom, earning her the nickname "Moses" among those she helped escape and others in the abolitionist movement.
