Identify Enduring Issues

A first step in identifying enduring issues among multiple documents is to note all issues that one document expresses. Consider one of the most famous lines ever spoken, the words of astronaut Neil Armstrong on July 20, 1969, when he became the first human to step on the moon: "That's one small step for [a] man, e giant leap for mankind." This line addresses several enduring issues:
one
⚫ the interaction between humans and nature
⚫ the rivalry between powerful countries for leadership
the impact of science and technology on human thoughts and behavior
the desire by people to explore and innovate
Below is a quotation attributed to Mohandas Gandhi. Identify at least three issues that you think it addresses. As you read this chapter, you might add more.
I believe that the civilization India evolved is not to be beaten in the world. Nothing can equal the seeds sown by our ancestors, Rome went, Greece shared the same fate; the might of the Pharaohs was broken; Japan has become Westernized; of China nothing can be said; but India is still, somehow or other, sound at the foundation.
