Define star topology

A star topology is a network topology in which each device on the network is connected to a central hub or switch. All data on the network passes through this central hub, making it a central point of control for the network. Each device on the network is connected to the hub using a separate cable, creating a structure that resembles a star when drawn out. This type of topology is commonly used in Ethernet networks and is known for its simplicity and ease of troubleshooting.
