In rural areas of Ethiopia, signal attenuation poses a significant challenge to achieving improved broadband connectivity. This paper aims to address this issue by providing a comprehensive characterization of signal attenuation in rural areas and proposing effective mitigation strategies. Through a thorough analysis of the factors contributing to signal attenuation and the impact on broadband connectivity, this study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders looking to enhance internet access in rural Ethiopia. By implementing these mitigation measures, we hope to significantly improve broadband connectivity and bridge the digital divide in rural communities.
