Now that you’ve (nearly) completed your major assignments, this is a good time to reflect about the progress you’ve made in this course. I am asking you to turn in a 500 word reflection, as a way to consider how your work has aligned with the course's goals and your own.

Please review the following questions to help you structure your response. You don’t have to answer every single one at this point, but it is important you use them to help keep your responses focused.

What did you do when I first introduced the assignment? How much time passed between the day I introduced the assignment and the day you got started?

When did you have your first draft done? What did you do with that draft -- did you show it to anyone and ask for feedback? (your teacher, peers, Writing Center tutors, family, friends)

What have your strengths been throughout the writing process for these assignments? What have been your biggest challenges and struggles? How can you adapt to these for future writing tasks?

When you look back on the semester, what have you learned about the writing process? What has surprised you? How will you take what you've learned and transfer that knowledge to future writing tasks? When I first introduced to the assignment, I took some time to read through the requirements carefully and understand what was expected of me. I made notes on the key points and guidelines provided by the instructor in order to ensure I stayed on track throughout the writing process. However, I will admit that I did not get started on the assignment immediately. There was about a week that passed between the day the assignment was introduced and when I actually began working on it. Looking back, I realize that I could have utilized that time more effectively by doing some preliminary research or outlining to get a head start.

I completed my first draft of the assignment about a week before it was due. In order to gather feedback and improve my work, I shared my draft with both my peers and the Writing Center tutors. They provided valuable insights and suggestions for revision that helped me refine my ideas and strengthen my arguments. I also discussed my draft with the instructor during office hours, where I received further guidance on how to enhance my writing.

Throughout the writing process for these assignments, my strengths have been in conducting thorough research, organizing my thoughts in a logical manner, and expressing my ideas clearly. I have also been able to effectively incorporate feedback and make revisions to improve my writing. However, my biggest challenge has been managing my time efficiently. I often found myself procrastinating and rushing to meet deadlines, which impacted the quality of my work. To adapt to this challenge in future writing tasks, I plan to create a more detailed schedule with specific deadlines for each stage of the writing process, allowing me to allocate time effectively and avoid last-minute stress.

Looking back on the semester, I have learned a great deal about the writing process. I have realized the importance of careful planning, revising, and seeking feedback to produce high-quality work. I have also discovered that writing is a continuous process of improvement, and that each draft can be refined further with input from peers and instructors. What has surprised me the most is how much my writing has evolved over the course of the semester, becoming more polished and sophisticated with each assignment.

To transfer the knowledge I have gained from this course to future writing tasks, I will continue to prioritize planning, revision, and seeking feedback. I will also make an effort to start working on assignments earlier to allow more time for research, drafting, and editing. By incorporating these strategies into my writing process, I am confident that I can produce even stronger work in the future.
