During the Cold War the United States, and many other countries around the world, created agencies to help find spies and learn what their enemies are planning. One of the agencies created during this time was the CIA or Central Intelligence Agency. Using the website: "10 Fascinating CIA Missions" pick one mission and describe what happened in a few sentences. Do you agree or disagree that the mission was necessary? Why or why not? Do NOT use A.I or you will receive a zero.

One of the missions carried out by the CIA was Operation MONGOOSE, which was launched to overthrow Fidel Castro's regime in Cuba in the early 1960s. The CIA planned various covert actions, including sabotage, assassinations, and other methods to destabilize Castro's government. Ultimately, the mission was unsuccessful and led to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

I disagree that this mission was necessary because it violated international laws and sovereignty of another country. The use of force and assassination attempts to achieve political goals sets a dangerous precedent and undermines diplomatic efforts. Instead, the focus should have been on peaceful negotiations and dialogue to address any concerns with the Cuban government.
