social science class was on monday the 22/04/2024 our guest lecturer was DR Jacques Jordaan who studied psychology and ciminology. he was adressing the social issue which is crime and rehabilitation .adresing how offernders struggle psychological and social if they want to rehabilitate.and that they struggle to copy also the are the are different perspectives that are being used social criminology,psychiatric criminology and psychological criminology. he alsp spoke about correctional environment that is not a conducive environment, that its negatively impact the wellbeing and mental health of offenders ,coping adjustment control over aggression and preventing reoffending is important .he also spoke about social learing theory under this theory to understand offending behavior,observation and learned behaviour , training school offernders to do bad again, cycle of violence. under research studies the prison adjustment , coping , aggression ,mental health , criminal thinking and recidivism . the are responsibilities for offernders to develop, to rehabilitate, assist to adjust and cope , if not continue cycle of violence and training school
