One example of the principle of ownership and control of private information in WhatsApp groups is when a group admin decides to make the group public without the consent of all members. I was once a member of a WhatsApp group where the admin unilaterally changed the group settings to allow anyone to join without seeking approval from existing members. This decision compromised the privacy of our conversations and allowed strangers to access our personal information without our consent. This experience taught me the importance of individuals having control over how their private information is shared in group settings and the need for group admins to respect the privacy of all members.
