The United States government and the Roman republic are similar because they both have a president or leader in charge. They are also similar because they both have laws and rules that people have to follow. A difference is that the United States has states and the Roman republic had provinces. Another difference is that the United States has elections and the Roman republic had senators who were chosen differently.
