At the end of the movie "The Ring," the protagonist Rachel discovers the truth about the cursed videotape and its connection to the ghostly Samara. She also uncovers the fact that Samara was murdered by her mother and thrown down a well, leading to her vengeful spirit inhabiting the videotape. Rachel manages to break the curse by making a copy of the tape and showing it to someone else, ultimately saving herself and her son from Samara's wrath. The film ends with Rachel and her son seemingly safe, but a hint is given of a possible continuation of the curse.
