Title: Starlit Confessions

It was a quiet night on the meteor, the only sound being the soft hum of the ship's engines. Dirk Strider sat cross-legged on the floor of his room, his eyes glued to the computer screen in front of him. He was in the middle of coding a new game, his focus completely on the task at hand.

Suddenly, there was a knock at his door, causing Dirk to jump slightly in surprise. He quickly closed the coding window and stood up, walking over to the door and opening it to reveal Jake English standing there, a sheepish smile on his face.

"Hey, Dirk," Jake said, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "I was wondering if you wanted to...uh...hang out?" he asked, his blue eyes hopeful.

Dirk's heart skipped a beat at the sight of Jake standing there, looking so uncertain and vulnerable. He couldn't help but smile in return, his cool facade momentarily slipping.

"Sure, Jake," Dirk replied, stepping aside to let him in. "I was just working on a new game, but I could use a break. What did you have in mind?"

Jake's face lit up at the invitation, and he practically bounced into the room, taking a seat on Dirk's bed. "I thought maybe we could watch a movie or something? Or we could play some games together. I brought some of my old favorites," he said, pulling a stack of DVDs out of his bag.

Dirk couldn't help but chuckle at Jake's enthusiasm, his heart warming at the thought of spending time with his friend. "Sounds good to me," he said, sitting down next to Jake on the bed. "What movie do you want to watch?"

As they settled in to watch the movie, Dirk found himself stealing glances at Jake out of the corner of his eye. He couldn't deny the flutter of excitement in his chest at the thought of spending time alone with him, finally able to admit to himself the feelings he had been harboring for so long.

As the movie played on, Dirk felt a surge of courage wash over him, and he turned to face Jake, his heart racing in his chest. "Jake, there's something I need to tell you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Jake turned to look at him, his eyes wide with curiosity. "What is it, Dirk?" he asked, his tone soft and gentle.

Taking a deep breath, Dirk took Jake's hand in his own, his fingers trembling slightly. "I...I think I might have feelings for you, Jake," he confessed, his eyes fixed on their clasped hands. "I've been trying to deny it, but...I can't anymore."

Jake's eyes widened in surprise at Dirk's words, but instead of pulling away, he squeezed Dirk's hand gently, a small smile forming on his lips. "Dirk, I...I think I might feel the same way," he admitted, his cheeks flushing pink.

Dirk's heart leaped with joy at Jake's confession, and he couldn't help but smile, the weight of his unspoken feelings finally lifted off his shoulders. Without another word, he leaned in and pressed his lips to Jake's, feeling a rush of warmth and happiness at the contact.

As they pulled away, their eyes met, a silent understanding passing between them. And in that moment, under a sky filled with stars, Dirk Strider and Jake English knew that they had found something truly special in each other.
