Why are incandescent lightbulbs considered to be lower efficiency than LED lightbulbs?

Incandescent lightbulbs are considered to be lower efficiency than LED lightbulbs because they waste a significant amount of energy in the form of heat. Incandescent bulbs produce light by heating a filament inside the bulb to high temperatures, which results in a large amount of energy being lost as heat rather than being converted into light. This inefficiency means that incandescent bulbs consume more electricity and have a shorter lifespan compared to LED bulbs, which convert a higher percentage of energy into visible light and produce very little heat. LED bulbs are also more energy efficient because they use semiconductors to produce light, which generates light much more efficiently than heating a filament.
