One pro of U.S. involvement in the Korean War was the containment of communist expansion in Asia, preventing North Korea from taking over South Korea. Additionally, U.S. involvement helped solidify its alliance with South Korea and other countries in the region. However, a major con was the high number of casualties and financial costs incurred by the United States. In my opinion, the pros of preventing communist expansion outweigh the cons of casualties and financial costs.
