SURD WITH EXAMPLES

A surd is an irrational number that cannot be simplified to a rational number.

Example 1:
√2 is a surd because it cannot be simplified to a rational number. It is approximately equal to 1.41421356.

Example 2:
√15 is a surd because it cannot be simplified to a rational number. It is approximately equal to 3.87298335.

Example 3:
√23 is a surd because it cannot be simplified to a rational number. It is approximately equal to 4.79583152.
