Song of Myself

by Walt Whitman

I celebrate myself, and sing myself,

And what I assume you shall assume,

For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.

I loafe and invite my soul,

I lean and loafe at my ease observing a spear of summer grass.

The air is filled with the scent of wildflowers,

And the sound of birds singing in the trees.

I am one with nature, connected to all living things,

In this moment, I am free.

I am a part of this world, just as you are,

We are all connected, like the stars in the sky.

My soul is at peace, in harmony with the universe,

In this moment, I am truly alive.

So let us celebrate ourselves, and sing ourselves,

For we are all unique and beautiful in our own way.

Let us embrace our individuality, and love ourselves,

For in this world, there is no one else quite like you or me.

So I celebrate myself, and sing myself,

And invite you to do the same.

For we are all connected, in this great dance of life,

And together, we can create a world of love and light.
