Excitable tissues are tissues that have the ability to generate and conduct electrical impulses, also known as action potentials. These tissues include nerve cells (neurons), muscle cells, and cardiac cells. Excitable tissues are able to respond to stimuli by generating electrical signals that propagate along their cell membranes, allowing for communication and coordination within the body.
