In "Cinder" by Marissa Meyer, Cinder fears that Prince Kai will reject her once he finds out that she is a cyborg. She is worried that he will see her as not worthy of his love and will turn away from her because of her artificial parts. Additionally, she is scared that their relationship will be hindered by the societal prejudices against cyborgs in their world.
