Granite is an igneous rock that is impermeable, meaning water cannot easily pass through it. This makes it unlikely to hold water and be included in the list of materials that hold water in the Ogallala aquifer. Sand, gravel, and silt are much more permeable and suitable for holding water in aquifers.
