The water on Earth is a finite resource that exists in three forms: liquid, solid (ice), and gas (vapor). It covers about 71% of the Earth's surface and is essential for all forms of life on the planet. Water cycles through the environment in a process known as the water cycle, where it evaporates from oceans and other bodies of water, condenses into clouds, falls as precipitation, and eventually returns to bodies of water to start the cycle again. Additionally, water is constantly being recycled and redistributed through processes such as evaporation, transpiration, and runoff.
