Who makes up the joint chief of staff

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) is composed of the highest-ranking military officers from each of the four branches of the United States Armed Forces: the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. The members of the JCS are as follows:

1. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) - highest-ranking military officer in the U.S. Armed Forces
2. Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (VCJCS) - second-highest-ranking military officer
3. Chief of Staff of the Army (CSA) - highest-ranking officer in the United States Army
4. Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) - highest-ranking officer in the United States Navy
5. Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF) - highest-ranking officer in the United States Air Force
6. Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) - highest-ranking officer in the United States Marine Corps

Together, these officers form the Joint Chiefs of Staff and advise the President, Secretary of Defense, and National Security Council on military matters.
