I guess you could say more easily than unifying Greece, but I am not sure it was easy :)

You're correct, it may not have been a completely easy process, but compared to the rugged landscape of Greece, the less rugged landscape of Rome made it relatively easier for them to unify the Italian peninsula. The presence of a more cohesive and connected territory allowed Rome to establish its dominance and control over the region.
