Why does the amount of daylight change per season?

The amount of daylight changes per season because the Earth's axis is tilted relative to its orbit around the sun. During summer, the hemisphere tilts towards the sun, resulting in longer days and shorter nights. In contrast, during winter, the hemisphere tilts away from the sun, leading to shorter days and longer nights. In between these two seasons, during spring and autumn, the Earth's tilt is such that day and night lengths are relatively equal. This phenomenon is why the amount of daylight changes throughout the year.
