What is a unitary system?

A unitary system is a form of government where power is concentrated at the national or central level. In this type of system, there is a single central government that holds authority over all other political subdivisions or units within the country, such as states, provinces, or regions. The central government has the power to create or abolish these subdivisions and can also delegate certain powers or responsibilities to them. Unitary systems are different from federal systems, where power is divided between the central government and the subnational units, which have their own authority and jurisdiction.
