What does sunnah mean in Islam

Sunnah refers to the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad, as well as his lifestyle and actions. It is considered to be a significant source of guidance for Muslims, alongside the Quran. Sunnah encompasses both verbal teachings (Hadith) and practical examples set by the Prophet, which are believed to illustrate how to live a righteous and pious life according to Islamic principles. Muslims strive to follow the sunnah closely, as it is believed to exemplify the ideal way of practicing Islam and attaining closeness to Allah.
