When solving a rational equation, why is it necessary to perform a check?
1 answer
It is not necessary; checking is only a way to verify your answer. If the check does not work out, it means you made an algenbraic error somewhere. Checks can verify one answer, but will not prove that other roots of the equation do not exist.
