# I have a few questions that I am not too sure about, could you please check them. Thanks!

1. Find the union
{2,3} U {2,4,8}

This is what I got : {2,4,8,3}

2. State the name of the property illustrated: (6+3) +(1+16)=(1+16)+(6+3)
I got commutative property of addition

3.Determine whether the statement is true or false: pi > 3
I got True

4. Write the algebraic expression without any parentheses: 1/4(4x)+[(2x)+(-2x)]

This one I got 4x, which is not one of my choices. My choices are: -3x,1,5x, and x.

List the numbers from the given set B that are members of the given Real Number subset:

B={20, squareroot of 5,-9,0, 0.4 repeating, and square root of 4} name the intergers in the subset: I got 20,-9,0,square root of 4.

B={18, squareroot of 7,-14,0,0.7 repeating, squareroot of 4} name the natural numbers in the subset: I got 18 and squareroot of 4

#4 is x.
1/4(4x) = x
[(2x)+(-2x)] = 0
x+0=x

The other answers all look correct.

Could you please explain me #4, I sort of get it, but I am want to make sure that I am thinking right.

You should use parentheses around the 1/4 in 1/4(4x), to distinguish it from 1/(16x).
With this understood,

(1/4)*(4x)+ [(2x)+(-2x)]
= x + 2x - 2x = x

One-fourth of 4x is obviously x. The 4's cancel.
