There is no known work by James McBride titled "Hip-Ho Plant." It may be a mix-up or a typing error. In this memoir, his primary purpose was to understand and share his own complex racial and cultural identity as well as shed light on the experiences of his mother, who was a white Jewish woman raising her children in a predominantly Black community.
