What religion is Japan?

The majority of the population in Japan identifies as Shinto and Buddhism. Shinto, an indigenous religion, is more of a form of nature worship and focuses on the reverence for nature, ancestors, and spirits. Buddhism, which originated in India, was introduced to Japan in the 6th century and has since become deeply integrated into Japanese culture. However, it is worth mentioning that many Japanese people may simultaneously practice elements of both Shinto and Buddhism without exclusive adherence to either. Additionally, Japan is known for its religious diversity and also has a small percentage of Christians, Muslims, and followers of other faiths.
