Jellyfish do not obtain energy from the sun through the process of photosynthesis, like plants and some other organisms. Instead, they get their energy by feeding on other organisms or by absorbing dissolved organic matter from the surrounding water. Thus, jellyfish do not directly extract energy from the sun.
