The scientific evidence supporting the Big Bang theory is extensive and well-established. Observations of the cosmic microwave background radiation, the abundance of light elements, and the redshift of distant galaxies all support the idea of an initial hot and dense state followed by expansion. On the other hand, the steady state theory lacks substantial scientific evidence and has been largely discarded due to contradictory observations and lack of predictive power, such as the absence of detectable new matter creation and the discovery of distant quasars that were not expected in a steady universe.
