Friar Lawrence and Juliet come up with a plan known as the "sleeping potion" plan. This plan involves Juliet taking a potion that will make her appear dead for forty-two hours. Once she is placed in the family tomb, Romeo is supposed to come and rescue her. After they are reunited, they are to escape to Mantua together and live a happy life.
