In three to five sentences, explain how the valleys and mountain ranges form.(4 points)

Valleys and mountain ranges form through the process of plate tectonics. When two tectonic plates collide, they can create intense pressure and force the crust to buckle and fold, resulting in the formation of mountain ranges. The forces generated during this collision can also cause parts of the crust to be uplifted, creating high peaks. Meanwhile, erosion by water, wind, and ice over millions of years can carve out valleys in between the mountains.
