Deep inside a hidden Russian lab, a scientist named Dr. Sergei Ivanov investigates a dormant Demogorgon. He smirks.
DR. IVANOV
(to himself, in Russian)
Soon, my friend, you will be awakened. The Upside Down shall consume Hawkins once again.
INT. HAWKINS SCHOOL - DAY
Mike, Will, and Lucas meet up with the rest of the gang by their lockers.
WILL
(anxiously)
I've been feeling it again, the Mind Flayer. It's never been this strong.
MIKE
(determined)
Then we have to stop it. We need Eleven's powers.
INT. HAWKINS cabin - NIGHT
Eleven, surrounded by candles, is practicing her powers when Mike suddenly bursts in, breathless.
MIKE
(excitedly)
El, we need you. It's back.
INT. HAWKINS lab - DAY
With their findings, Dustin, Lucas, and Max rush to the lab to confront Dr. Owens about the classified document.
DR. OWENS
(consternation)
How did you find this? It's highly confidential!
DUSTIN
(defiantly)
We need to know what you're hiding. We deserve to know!
INT. HAWKINS fairgrounds - NIGHT
The whole group reunites near the ferris wheel as Eleven joins them. She looks determined.
ELEVEN
(resolute)
We're going to end this for good. It's time to close the gate to the Upside Down once and for all.
Their resolve strengthens, and together our heroes prepare to face the growing evil that plagues their town. They stand united, ready to embark on another harrowing adventure.

Dr. Owens bursts into the control room, where a small group of scientists are frantically working on their consoles. The screens flicker with glitches, and one scientist slams his fist against the keyboard.

It's chaos, Dr. Owens! The entire system is malfunctioning!
Dr. Owens grips the edge of the console, his knuckles whitening.

INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY - HAWKINS HIGH - DAY
The school bell rings, and students flood the hallways. We catch up with our beloved characters: ELEVEN, MIKE, LUCAS, DUSTIN, MAX, and WILL. Their backpacks slung over their shoulders, they exchange excited greetings.

The distorted figure, the MIND FLAYER, gazes directly into the camera, sending shivers down Dr. Owens' spine.
INT. HAWKINS NATIONAL LAB - EXTERIOR - NIGHT
The Lab's alarms wail as the scientists and guards rush outside. Dr. Owens leads them, a grim determination etched on his face. However, as they step out, they find themselves facing a WRITHING, DARK CLOUD that looms over the entire Lab.
GUARD
(stammering)
What... What is that thing?!
Dr. Owens stands paralyzed for a moment, then takes charge.
DR. OWENS
(intense)
Everyone, run! Get as far as you can from here!
INT./EXT. HAWKINS HIGH SCHOOL - DAY
The kids, now aware of the escalating situation, gather outside the school, watching as a stream of panicked lab employees sprint towards them.
LUCAS
(pointing)
Look! It's Dr. Owens!
Dr. Owens, exhausted but determined, reaches the kids, gasping for air.
DR. OWENS
(urgent)
You kids need to find Hopper. Bring him back. Hawkins needs him more than ever.
ELEVEN
(bracing herself)

The kids nod resolutely, and without wasting another moment, they take off towards their bikes, determination etched on their faces.

They all exchange worried glances. Suddenly, the sound of POLICE SIRENS can be heard approaching.

We cut to the police station, where Hooper's disappearance is investigated. Chief KAREN WHEELER stands behind an officer's desk, her face marked with worry.
OFFICER
We've searched the area, Chief Wheeler, but we found no trace of Chief Hopper.
KAREN WHEELER
(fighting back tears)
Keep searching. Bring him back. We can't lose Jim.
INT. HAWKINS HOSPITAL - DAY
Meanwhile, at the hospital, we find ERIKA SINCLAIR by her brother's side, LUCAS, who was injured during the Snow Ball incident.

Whoever did this, they're gonna pay. That's my little brother!

Cut to Dr. OWENS in the lab basement where they previously conducted experiments.
