Theorem 12 - 8

Diameters and chords

short definition

A diameter is a chord that passes through the center of a circle.

Theorem 12 states that in a circle, if a diameter or a chord is perpendicular to a chord, it bisects the chord and its arc. In simpler terms, if a line segment within a circle is perpendicular to another line segment, it divides the other line segment and the arc it intersects into two equal parts.
