Explain the effect of a change in friction in relation to force. Write 2-3 sentences.

An increase in friction will increase the force required to move an object against the surface it is in contact with. This is because the frictional force is opposing the applied force. Similarly, a decrease in friction will reduce the force required to move an object as there will be less resistance from the surface.

When the friction between two objects increases, the force required to move or stop the objects also increases. This is because friction opposes the motion of objects and acts in the opposite direction of the applied force. Conversely, when the friction decreases, less force is required to move or stop the objects.
