Describe two warning signs of substance abuse

1) Changes in behavior and mood: Substance abuse often leads to drastic changes in a person's behavior and mood. They may become irritable, withdrawn or anxious. They may also experience mood swings or become more aggressive. Additionally, substance abuse can cause a person to become more secretive, avoid social interactions and neglect previously enjoyed activities.

2) Physical changes: Substance abuse can cause physical changes like weight loss or gain, red or bloodshot eyes, tremors, slurred speech, slowed movements, difficulty in coordination or balance, and chronic cough or changes in hygiene. A person who has developed substance abuse may also show signs of physical deterioration, such as poor skin tone, missing teeth, and a worn appearance. These signs can indicate the presence of a substance abuse problem, and they should not be ignored.
