Parts of the heart

1. Aorta: The largest artery in the body, it carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the rest of the body.

2. Pulmonary artery: This artery carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs for oxygenation.

3. Pulmonary vein: It carries oxygen-rich blood from the lungs back to the heart.

4. Right atrium: This receives deoxygenated blood from the body and pumps it to the right ventricle.

5. Right ventricle: It pumps deoxygenated blood through the pulmonary artery to the lungs.

6. Left atrium: This receives oxygen-rich blood from the lungs and pumps it to the left ventricle.

7. Left ventricle: This pumps oxygen-rich blood through the aorta to the rest of the body.

8. Mitral valve: This valve controls blood flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle.

9. Tricuspid valve: This valve controls blood flow from the right atrium to the right ventricle.

10. Aortic valve: This valve controls blood flow from the left ventricle into the aorta.
