1. Active listening: listen carefully to the person speaking, ask clarifying questions and respond appropriately.

2. Be clear: make sure your message is clear and concise to avoid misunderstandings.
3. Non-verbal communication: pay attention to your body language, eye contact, tone of voice and facial expressions which usually convey more emotions than spoken words.
4. Respect others: show respect to others by avoiding interrupting or speaking over them.
5. Paraphrase: summarize what the other person has said, in your own words, to show that you are actively listening to them.
6. Focus on the present: avoid bringing up past issues, instead focus on the present situation.
7. Choose the right medium: choose the appropriate communication method based on the situation, such as face-to-face, phone, email or instant messaging.
8. Empathize: try to understand the perspectives of the other person by putting yourself in their shoes.
9. Use positive language: avoid negative words and phrases and choose positive language that encourages collaboration and problem-solving.
10. Follow up: follow up with the other person to make sure the message was received and understood.
